Applying for a Green Card is a big step. The medical exam (Form I-693) is a very important part of that process. Many people worry about making a mistake or forgetting a document.

We want to make this easy for you. When you visit our office in the Financial District, we help you get your paperwork right so you can get your Green Card faster.

What Documents Do You Need?

You must bring specific documents to your appointment. If you forget them, we cannot finish your exam.

Please bring these items to our office:

  • Photo ID: Please bring your Passport and VISA.
  • Medical Records: Bring your vaccination records and any other medical records. Important: If your records are not in English, they must be translated.
  • Form I-693: Please bring the most recent version of Form I-693. Fill out the sections about you, but do not sign it until the doctor tells you to.
  • Insurance Card: Bring your medical insurance card. While the exam fee is separate, your insurance may cover the cost of your lab work.
  • Payment: The exam fee is $500 (this does not include vaccines or bloodwork costs). Please be ready to pay this fee when you arrive.

How Fast Will You Get Results?

We know you have deadlines. You need to know when your papers will be ready.

For most patients, the processing time is 7 to 10 days.

Here is the process:

  1. First Visit: The doctor checks your health and reviews your vaccines.
  2. Lab Work: We do blood tests for syphilis and tuberculosis (TB).
  3. Follow-up: The process may take up to 2 visits. Once your results are back and everything is correct, we complete the paperwork.

Note: You will receive a copy for yourself and a sealed envelope for USCIS. Do not open the sealed envelope.
